who lived in human form between Sep' 1856 and Jan' 1923, stands out in sharp distinction from
all these saints. Guru, also called as Andavar by HIS devotees, was not content with seeking
salvation for his own soul.
Andavar did penance and prayed to God for a way by which all of his fellow men would be able to
reach the goal of union with God.
